Race Day is July 4th!
We are a couple days away from the 30th Annual Village Runner 4th of July 5k and Firecracker Dash in the Riviera Village of Redondo Beach, sponsored by UCLA Health, dogtopia and sweetgreen! All participants will receive an Independence Day run t-shirt. There will be chip timing, age division awards, costume contest, post race party and cash prizes to the top three overall male and female runners in the 5k run. All kids dash finishers receive medals too!

You can register online by clicking the blue button below, in-person at our Redondo store with this printable form, we are open daily, 11am-6pm, 255 Avenida Del Norte, Redondo Beach, CA 90277, or on race morning near the starting line on S. Catalina Ave. near Palos Verdes Blvd.
Celebrate and give back to our local students. The Village Runner 4th of July 5k directly benefits the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation and other local schools and running programs. A portion of YOUR registration fee from this race goes to these deserving groups each year!
Packet Pickup, Sale, & Late Registration
Race packets will be available for pickup:
- Monday, July 3rd: 12pm – 6pm at Rock & Brews, 6300 S Pacific Coast Hwy
- Tuesday (race morning), July 4th: 6:30am on S. Catalina Ave. near Palos Verdes Blvd.
During packet pickup and at the race we’ll have a Sidewalk Sale! Find huge discounts on running shoes, clothing and accessories. For best selection at the sale, make sure to come on Monday!
Race Schedule:
The 5k Run/Walk begins at 8:00am.
The Firecracker Dash heats are separated by age groups and start approximately at the times listed below.
9:30am Ages 8-9, Distance: 1/4 Mile
9:40am Ages 6-7, Distance: 1/4 Mile
9:45am Ages 4-5, Distance: “Dash”
Costume Contest
We will be having a Costume Contest at the stage in the Coffee Cartel parking lot from 7:15am to 7:30am. Please enter with your patriotic best for a chance to win the following prizes:
- 1st Place – $100 gift certificate to the Village Runner
- 2nd Place – $75 gift certificate to the Village Runner
- 3rd Place – $50 gift certificate to the Village Runner

Post Race Party
Make sure to walk over to Rock & Brews right after the race for the awards ceremony. Between 8:30am and 10:45am they will have a buffet, 52 draft beers on tap, and killer Bloody Marys! Celebrate your race and the chance to win cool raffle prizes. A portion of the profits from the Post Race Party will be donated to the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation!

4th of July Concert
In the afternoon, we are also producing a second event! Please join us for a concert featuring Oingo Boingo Former Members in the Riviera Village along with food, beer, and wine! The concert features three live bands, including Jeremy Buck and Feed the Kitty.
General Admission $40 Includes unlimited re-entry into the Beer Garden with wristband.
VIP $100 Includes 2 complimentary drink tickets & premium stage view in the shade. Unlimited re-entry into the Beer Garden with wristband.
