Independence Day 5K Run & Firecracker Dash

Celebrate Independence Day with a scenic run along the Pacific Ocean and enjoy our 33rd Annual 4th of July 5K Run/Walk and Firecracker Dash at 8:00am with events starting in the heart of the Riviera Village, Redondo Beach! All participants will receive an Independence Day run t-shirt. There will be chip timing, age division awards, and cash prizes to the top three overall male and female runners in the 5K run. All kids dash finishers receive medals too!

Volunteer Opportunities
Calling all South Bay community volunteers!
We are currently seeking volunteers to assist us with our 4th of July 5K in Redondo Beach! We have both non-race day and race day opportunities available. Please see the time slots for more information. All volunteers earn a race shirt! We appreciate your help!
Costume Contest
We will be having a Costume Contest at the stage in the Coffee Cartel parking lot from 7:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Please enter with your patriotic best for a chance to win the following prizes:
- 1st Place – $100 gift certificate to the Village Runner
- 2nd Place – $75 gift certificate to the Village Runner
- 3rd Place – $50 gift certificate to the Village Runner
Post Race Party & Awards Ceremony
Make sure to walk over to Rock & Brews right after the race for the awards ceremony. Between 8:30am and 10:45am they will have a buffet, 52 draft beers on tap, and killer Bloody Marys! Celebrate your race and the chance to win cool raffle prizes.
Benefits
Celebrate and give back to our local students. The Village Runner Independence Day 5K directly benefits the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation and other local schools and running programs. A portion of YOUR registration fee from this race goes to these deserving groups each year.

The race course starts and finishes on Catalina Ave. near Palos Verdes Blvd.
