Two Village Runner alumni crossing the finish line after 10 years

**Warning – totally cheesy post to ensue…**

It was under dim retail lighting and the smell of polyurethane shoe rubber in the air that these two found one another.  He had just relocated from the good old land of Lincoln with an aimless goal of simply heading west to serve the footwear needs of southern California, while she was an undergrad at USC supplementing her income by the same means.   Sparks flew upon that first glance working at Village Runner and their time together went well beyond their scheduled work shifts.  Fast forward ten years, career changes, a 2200 mile separation, and cross-country moves to Michigan and back.  After a proposal during a run along the bluffs of Palos Verdes two and a half years ago, these two are finally crossing the finish line together today!

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Mike Ward, the Village Runner family, and VR patrons for your support over the last decade as we’ve traveled on this long journey.  I can finally say that today, I marry my best friend.

Footnote – our engagement photos were taken at the Quail Hill Nature Preserve in Irvine, CA by “This Modern Romance” Photography.  I only find it fitting that we kept coming across runners along the trails during our shoot! 😀
