Course Description
The MB5K starts and finishes under the Manhattan Beach Pier. Race out and back north to the jetty at 45th Street. The miles are marked with splits and “kick” markers from 400m to go guarantee your best finish. The super low tide creates a perfect running surface of hard packed sand like a dirt road so running with or without shoes is an option (the faster athletes tend to wear shoes). One can even wear track spikes! Baby joggers work great and are encouraged as the kids love being that close to the sea.
Directions and Parking
405 to Rosecrans west. South on Sepulveda (Pacific Coast Highway) to Manhattan Beach Blvd. West to the ocean. Parking in lots at Manhattan Pier, & lot and structure at Highland and 12th. Bring quarters for the meters!
