Slushie Science for Runners

Now this is science I can get behind!  An interesting article in the latest Outside Magazine talks about research that shows the benefits of gulping down ice cold drinks (water, slushies, you pick…)  for endurance athletes by keeping their core temperatures cooler and allowing athletes to perform longer and stronger than those who do not precool.
Am I the only person though that wonders however… about those nagging side cramps from all that fluid?
